At its conclusion, the tour was the highest grossing of all time with a total of 441.1 million. It also won the “Major Tour of the Year” at the Pollstar Concert Industry Awards in 2009.

The Rolling Stones, A Bigger Band Tour

The A Bigger Band Tour was in support of The Rolling Stone’s studio album of the same name. It grossed a total of over 558 million. The tour began on August 10, 2005 in Fenway Park, Boston and concluded on August 23 of 2007 in London, England.

U2, 360 Tour

Created to support U2′s 2009 album No Line on the Horizon, the 360 Tour currently stands as highest grossing concert tour of all time. It eclipsed the previous record held by the Rolling Stones’ A Bigger Bang Tour. The tour kicked off on June 30, 2009 in Barcelona, Spain and concluded on July 30, 2011 in Moncton, Canada. It grossed a total of 736 million in ticket sales and was infamous for its intricate “Claw” stage set up. The stage was built to increase the intimacy between the band and spectators.
